Accountant – Financial Reporting & Analysis

About the role

Superior Lubricants is seeking an experienced Accountant to maintain accurate financial records and support critical decision‑making. You will work in a dynamic, ISO‑9001 certified environment, collaborating across departments to ensure timely reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close, including journal entries, accruals, fixed‑asset accounting, and revenue recognition.
• Maintain daily cash position updates and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts regularly.
• Produce monthly financial statements, financial packages for executive review, and distribute results.
• Manage banking requirements such as Borrowing Base Certificates and quarterly covenant calculations.
• Analyze variances between budgets, prior year results, and actual performance.
• Prepare and file state taxes, including sales, highway use, and petroleum business taxes.
• Support external audits of financial statements and benefit plans.
• Identify process‑improvement and cost‑reduction opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3–5 years of verifiable accounting experience.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple departments and communicate financial insights.
