Accountant / Bookkeeper – Fairfax, VA

About the role

StreamTech Solutions is seeking a diligent Accountant/Bookkeeper to manage bookkeeping and general office administrative duties for a variety of client organizations. The role involves handling accounts payable, bank deposits, reconciliations, and other finance‑related tasks while supporting the firm’s consulting services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, including journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and bank reconciliations.
• Apply strong accounting skills to process A/P, A/R, purchasing backups, journal entries, and prepare financial statements.
• Support team management functions and participate in related activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of office or bookkeeping experience.
• Payroll processing experience and familiarity with common bookkeeping software.
• Previous work with QuickBooks or similar accounting programs.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices, high accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
• Typing speed of at least 40 WPM.
