Account Manager – Chemical Distribution

About the role

Brenntag is looking for an Account Manager in Wauwatosa to manage sales in an assigned territory and maximize sales and profit. The role combines customer business development (70%), new customer generation (10%), sales and general admin (15%) and product know-how management (5%). It uses frequent face-to-face and telephone contact in a consultative approach.

Key responsibilities

• Meet sales objectives, retain customers and improve satisfaction, including through digital channels
• Identify cross- and range-selling opportunities with existing customers and set growth plans aligned with the Sales Manager
• Visit customers regularly, prepare meetings, negotiate and close proposals, and handle rush offers with support from the Commercial Assistant
• Act as main commercial contact, liaise with stakeholders such as Product Management and Sales Management on pricing, and run market studies on new products
• Use Brenntag Connect to generate and maximize sales
• Generate new business projects with other departments, prioritize prospects and nurture leads
• Set prices within value-based guidelines, keep CRM records of visits and projects, update opportunity pipelines, and provide demand forecasts to Product Management
• Stay up to date on products, the product portfolio, feedstocks and upstream developments affecting prices

Required profile

• Preferably post-secondary education in Business, Science or equivalent
• 3 to 5 years of sales experience, preferably in chemical distribution
