Account Executive - Core Market (Employee Health & Benefits)

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency's East Region leads the employee benefits marketplace, simplifying health and welfare benefits and risk management for regional, national and Fortune 500 companies. The Employee Health & Benefits Account Executive is a senior, client-facing leader who owns the strategic direction, retention and growth of an assigned book of client relationships, acting as the primary executive contact and setting the long-term consulting strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Own the strategic relationship and outcomes for an assigned book of business and lead resolution of difficult client issues
• Set multi-year consulting strategies, direct the day-to-day client service team and lead renewals, including financial analysis, plan design, vendor negotiations and stewardship presentations
• Run executive-level strategic planning meetings and lead RFP and marketing processes with Underwriting and specialty teams
• Negotiate contracts, rates, plans and schedules, and identify new revenue sources such as additional products, voluntary benefits and specialty services
• Improve profitability and revenue, contribute to internal best practices and keep up with market trends, carriers and regulations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 8-10 years of progressive experience in employee health & benefits consulting, brokerage or insurance, including direct client-facing account leadership
• Demonstrated C-suite level experience in negotiations, strategic planning and relationship management
• Experience leading renewals, vendor negotiations and resolving complex client issues
• Active Life and Health license required; CEBS, GBA, RHU or similar designations preferred
• Hybrid work in Conshohocken with travel to client sites as required

Required skills

• Deep technical knowledge of the employee benefits landscape and regulatory environment
• Strong negotiation, analytical, financial and project management skills
• Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Canva

What we offer

• Base salary of $130,000 to $160,000, with possible performance-based incentives
