About the role

RH Strategic is seeking an Account Director, Public Affairs to lead integrated policy and communications strategies for clients in Washington, D.C. The role blends policy expertise with communications, focusing on technology, labor, and healthcare sectors, and requires an in‑office presence at least three days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead integrated public affairs strategies and campaigns that shape policy outcomes, leveraging media, digital platforms, events, and partnerships.
• Craft high‑impact policy communications such as executive messaging, op‑eds, testimony, and briefing documents.
• Serve as a trusted advisor, translating legislative and regulatory developments into actionable client insights.
• Build and strengthen relationships with client government‑relations teams.
• Guide internal teams to deliver cohesive, high‑quality campaigns.
• Represent RH Strategic and clients within D.C. networks, industry events, and community gatherings to expand relationships and firm presence.
• Mentor junior team members and foster professional growth.

Required profile

• 8–10 years of experience in policy, public affairs, or policy communications.
• Proven ability to design and execute strategic public affairs campaigns that influence policy outcomes.
• Strong track record of managing complex, fast‑paced priorities and delivering high‑quality work under tight deadlines.
• Open to leveling: candidates with 6–7 years may be considered for an Account Supervisor role.
