ACC Kids Assistant (Part-Time)

About the role

Arundel Christian Church is looking for a part-time ACC Kids Assistant in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The assistant supports the ACC Kids Ministry, which serves children from nursery through 5th grade, through weekly tasks such as volunteer scheduling, curriculum preparation and other office work. The role reports directly to the ACC Kids Director and supervises and directs ACC Kids volunteers.

Key responsibilities

• Help recruit, train, equip and retain a strong volunteer team for Sunday services, Wednesday evening service, KidVenture Week (the VBS program), special children's events and occasional childcare needs.
• Assist with operational processes including volunteer training, check-in systems and safety protocols.
• Edit and prepare curriculum for Sunday morning and Wednesday evening programming (nursery through 5th grade).
• Prepare curriculum for KidVenture Week, classes, trainings, family events and special events, and create supply lists so materials are ordered on time.
• Set up and clean up classrooms for Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services.
• Coordinate weekly volunteer scheduling and help new volunteers join the team, including shadowing and onboarding.
• Encourage and celebrate existing volunteers and communicate clearly with volunteers and staff.
• Uphold safety and security protocols together with the church's Watch Team.
• Perform other office duties as assigned.

Required profile

• No degree required; minimum 2 years of experience volunteering in a kids ministry program or similar role.
• A passion for kids ministry and a desire to see parents and children grow in their faith.
• Ability to embrace the church's vision, values, statement of faith and policies.
• Team player who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced ministry setting.
