About the role

Tarleton State University seeks an Academic Coordinator for its TRIO Programs to assess student academic needs, develop individualized success plans, and coordinate advising and mentoring services across target schools and community partners.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate academic and mentoring services with target schools and community partners, including travel to multiple districts.
  • Assess student academic needs and create Individual Educational Plans.
  • Process academic documentation and monitor student progress.
  • Develop educational resources and programming that promote academic achievement and post‑secondary goals.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years of experience working with first‑generation and low‑income students, including secondary academic advising and documentation of student progress.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Knowledge of post‑secondary admission and financial aid processes is preferred.
