Academic Advisor – Career Services (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Academic Advisor – Career Services will guide Albany Technical College students in selecting programs of study and career pathways. Working under the Associate Vice President for Career Services, the advisor provides comprehensive academic counseling, registration support, and career‑development services.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver academic advisement, registration assistance, and information services to students.
• Identify student success barriers and suggest effective alternatives.
• Assist students in creating individualized academic plans aligned with life goals.
• Interpret placement tests, degree audits, and course catalogs to recommend appropriate courses.
• Maintain student records, prepare administrative reports, and support graduation processes.
• Provide career‑services functions such as job placement, resume writing, interview preparation, and labor‑market information.
• Coordinate communications regarding advisement, academic calendar, and registration.
• Stay current on institutional policies, program changes, and federal mandates.
