About the role

The Saddleback Valley Unified School District is seeking a part‑time (60% FTE) French teacher for Mission Viejo High School for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality French instruction to secondary students, support language acquisition, and contribute to the school’s multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess French curriculum for grades 9‑12 in accordance with state standards.
• Develop engaging lesson plans, instructional materials, and authentic assessments.
• Provide individualized support for English learners and students with diverse language backgrounds.
• Collaborate with department colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and school initiatives.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and parent‑teacher conferences.

Required profile

• Valid California Single Subject French Credential.
• English Learner (EL) Authorization.
• Bilingual proficiency in French (spoken and written).
• Three recent letters of recommendation (dated within two years).
• Complete application package including transcript, credential copy, letter of introduction, and resume.

Required skills

• Ability to design and implement standards‑based French instruction.
• Experience supporting English learners in a secondary setting.
• Strong classroom management and assessment skills.

• Annual salary prorated to 60% of the full‑time scale ($64,756 – $136,233), based on education and experience.
