5th Grade Literature Teacher

About the role

The 5th Grade Literature Teacher will join Founders Classical Academy to deliver a rigorous, classical curriculum to a classroom of 20‑27 students. The role focuses on fostering intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth through literature and virtue‑based instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver effective lessons using classical traditional methods.
• Assign, review, and provide timely feedback on classwork and homework.
• Administer formative and summative assessments, record results, and generate reports for students, parents, and administrators.
• Maintain a classroom environment that supports approximately 20‑27 students.
• Collaborate with parents, colleagues, and school leadership to support student development.
• Participate in field trips, trainings, and other school activities as required.

Required profile

• Passion for students and strong knowledge of literary content.
• Ability to model and teach virtue, cultivating habits of virtue in students.
• Understanding of and enthusiasm for classical education methods.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and student data such as diagnostic test results and assessments.

• Computer literacy.
