2nd Shift Production Operator – Manufacturing

About the role

Moog is seeking a reliable 2nd Shift Production Operator to join its manufacturing team in Murphy, NC. You will work on the shop floor assembling electromechanical products, ensuring quality and on‑time delivery while following all safety and procedural guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble rotor, stator, motor and drive sub‑assemblies using documented procedures and tooling.
• Operate machine stripper, hand tools, stator potting mixer, mold transfer press, and other equipment.
• Install lead‑wire pin connectors, apply varnish, glue, and potting compounds.
• Attach heat sinks to circuit boards and complete final motor assembly.
• Test motor/drive performance against specifications.
• Load and monitor automated machinery, package finished units, and perform cross‑training on all operations.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and work overtime, including Saturdays, as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Mechanical aptitude and good hand‑eye coordination.
• Ability to lift 20 lb frequently and up to 40 lb occasionally.
• Good eyesight, color discrimination, and ability to work around strong electromagnetic fields.
• Willingness to work on a 2nd shift schedule and perform physical tasks such as standing, climbing, stooping, and kneeling.

Required skills

• Soldering (or ability to become certified).
• Operation of machine stripper, stator potting mixer, and mold transfer press.

• Basic math calculations.
