2nd Shift Production Operator

About the role

Moog is seeking a reliable 2nd Shift Production Operator to join its Murphy, NC facility. You will work on assembling electromechanical products, handling a variety of tools and machinery while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble rotor, stator, motor and related sub‑assemblies using documented procedures and tooling.
• Operate machine strippers, hand tools, and mold transfer presses to remove insulation and attach components.
• Install lead wire pin connectors and apply varnish, glue, and potting compounds to stator and rotor assemblies.
• Attach heat sinks to circuit boards and perform final motor assembly and performance testing.
• Load, monitor, and troubleshoot automated machinery; package completed motor/drive units.
• Cross‑train on all production operations and support overtime as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Mechanical aptitude with good hand‑dexterity, color vision, and ability to lift 20 lb regularly (up to 40 lb occasionally).
• Willingness to work around strong electromagnetic fields and stand or sit for long periods.

Required skills

• Soldering (or ability to become certified).
• Operation of machine strippers, stator potting mixers, and mold transfer presses.
• Application of varnish, glue, and potting compounds.
• Heat‑sink attachment and final motor assembly.
• Monitoring and loading of automated production equipment.
