2nd Shift Assembler/Tester

About the role

Moog is seeking a 2nd Shift Assembler/Tester to join its Space and Defense Group in Cleveland, Ohio. The role involves assembling and testing fiber optic cables and related components on a rotating shift schedule, ensuring products meet strict quality and performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble fiber optic cables, transceivers, and related parts using hand tools, fixtures, and equipment.
• Perform precision measurements and inspections to verify fit and compliance with specifications.
• Execute testing procedures, record pass/fail results, and troubleshoot non‑conforming assemblies.
• Maintain and calibrate test platforms, and handle materials safely within an ESD‑controlled environment.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Quality‑focused with mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity.

Required skills

• Fiber optic cable assembly.
• Use of hand tools, fixtures, and precision measurement equipment.
• Operation of test equipment and interpretation of test results.
• ESD safety procedures.
