Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Design Engineer II will develop new products and improve existing ones within the Linear Motion Division, ensuring performance, cost and quality targets are met. The role involves creating detailed technical documentation that supports design, manufacturing and quality teams.

Key responsibilities

• Produce drawings and documentation for moderately complex components and processes.
• Recommend solutions for complex components, providing supporting documentation to engineering managers or project teams.
• Utilize computer‑aided design analysis tools to optimise designs efficiently.
• Support existing products through cost‑reduction initiatives, failure analysis, application solutions and product derivatives.
• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) dispositioning.
• Travel 5‑10% as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum three years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and DFMEA.
• Effective communication and customer‑focus skills.
• Ability to facilitate technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
