Assembler/Tester

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group is seeking an Assembler/Tester to join the production team in Highland Heights, Ohio. You will work on the first‑shift, onsite schedule reporting to the Production Supervisor, contributing to the build of high‑precision fiber‑optic components.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble fiber‑optic cables and transceivers using hand tools, fixtures and specialized equipment.
• Perform precision measurements and verify that components meet exact specifications.
• Complete assembly phases such as inspecting, cleaning, terminating, polishing, testing and packing.
• Troubleshoot, repair and rework non‑conforming assemblies to meet customer requirements.
• Execute test procedures, record pass/fail results and calibrate testing platforms safely.
• Follow detailed work instructions, drawings and ESD safety protocols.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Quality‑focused with mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity.

Required skills

• Hand‑tool operation and fixture handling.
• Use of precision measurement equipment (manual or automated).
• Operation of test equipment for functional verification.
• Electrostatic discharge (ESD) safety practices.
