About the role
Join the Randall Oaks Zoo as a volunteer and help care for animals while creating a positive experience for guests. This role offers a behind‑the‑scenes look at zoo operations and the chance to grow responsibilities over time.
Key responsibilities
- Assist staff with daily zoo operations (outside of animal exhibits).
- Support guest experiences by providing friendly service and information.
- Participate in special events and educational programs as needed.
- Follow all safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for animals, guests, and staff.
- Commit to at least one volunteer shift per week, with flexibility for additional time.
- Represent the Dundee Township Park District and Randall Oaks Zoo in a positive and professional manner.
Required profile
- Enthusiasm for animals and people.
- Commitment to reliability and teamwork.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directions and safety procedures.
- Willingness to learn and grow with the zoo team.
- Minimum age: 16 years old (background check required).
