About the role
The Coordinator, Zero Waste and Special Projects supports Georgetown University’s Zero Waste initiatives on both the Hilltop and Capitol campuses and helps drive the institution’s broader sustainability strategy through special projects.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the optimization of Zero Waste programs across campus locations.
- Support the implementation of the university’s sustainability strategic plan via special projects.
- Engage with faculty, staff, students, senior leadership, external partners, and government agencies to promote behavior change.
- Assist the Manager in convening and facilitating cross‑functional teams to meet sustainability goals.
- Collect, analyze, and report data for internal and external sustainability reporting.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related discipline.
- Minimum two years of experience in an environmental‑focused organization, higher‑education experience preferred.
- Proven ability to support and collaborate with senior leadership.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong organizational abilities.
- Analytical experience collecting and reporting sustainability data.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Google Suite.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience creating presentations using PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva, or Prezi.
