Youth Mentoring Program Coordinator

About the role

The International Rescue Committee in Wichita is seeking a Youth Mentoring Program Coordinator to design, implement and expand its mentorship program for refugee and newcomer youth ages 15‑24. Reporting to the Youth Program Supervisor, you will lead outreach, mentor recruitment, training and program evaluation to help young people rebuild their lives and achieve their goals.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery of the youth mentoring program, including academic, recreational and enrichment activities.
• Develop and manage a systematic process to recruit, train, retain and recognize volunteer mentors.
• Design outreach and engagement strategies that connect mentors with newcomer youth and remove barriers to participation.
• Collaborate with internal IRC departments and external partners such as schools, workforce development agencies and community organizations to secure referrals and resources.
• Oversee supplemental activities such as civic engagement projects, vocational workshops and social‑inclusion events.
• Monitor program outcomes, collect data and report on impact.

Required profile

• Experience coordinating youth or community programs, preferably in a nonprofit or humanitarian setting.
• Strong organizational and project‑management abilities.
• Ability to work with diverse populations, including refugees and recent immigrants.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging mentors, youth and partner agencies.
