Youth Education Manager

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Youth Education Manager to lead its New York youth programming. This senior position oversees a $3.5 million portfolio, ensuring high‑quality education and support services for newcomer youth across the city.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership, vision, and program design for all youth education initiatives.
• Oversee implementation of tutoring, summer academy, leadership training, and student support coaching.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with local education and social service providers.
• Manage sub‑grants, deliver technical assistance, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
• Contribute to grant writing and fundraising to expand the program’s funding base.
• Ensure accurate, timely reporting of program data to donors and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with other IRC New York departments to deliver seamless, client‑centered services.
• Represent the youth program at conferences, working groups, and community forums.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multi‑million‑dollar education programs in a non‑profit or humanitarian setting.
• Strong people‑management skills, including supervising a team of ~10 staff members.
• Demonstrated ability to build and sustain partnerships with external organizations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and advocacy.
