Yacht Rigger & Hardware Installer

About the role

Gold Coast Yachts, a premier builder of high‑end custom catamarans in St. Croix, is seeking a Yacht Rigger & Hardware Installer to join its on‑site team. The role involves installing and rigging deck and sailing hardware on 40‑ to 100‑foot vessels, ensuring all components meet engineering specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Layout and install deck hardware, chainplates, hatches, ports, doors, railings, stanchions, lifelines, winches, and related marine fittings according to engineering drawings.
• Assemble and outfit masts with spreaders, brackets, shrouds, stays, turnbuckles, padeyes, furling systems, and running‑rigging lines.
• Measure, cut, and terminate stainless‑steel wire stay fittings; splice and route running‑rigging lines to match the vessel’s sail plan.
• Fabricate and install composite backing pads for hardware and conduct mast‑rigging tuning during sea trials.

Required profile

• Legally authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship available).
• Ability to work autonomously while meeting team goals and to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
• Enthusiasm for continuous learning and strong understanding of marine terminology.
• Reliable transportation to the Christiansted yard.

Required skills

• Deck hardware installation and marine sealant application.
• Mast rigging, including spreader and stay assembly.
• Stainless‑steel wire stay fitting and running‑rigging splicing.
• Chainplate layout and installation.
• Composite material fabrication for hardware backing pads.
• Knowledge of sailing standing and running rigging and of composite construction methods.
