Work Capability Assessment Nurse – Hybrid

About the role

As a Work Capability Assessment (WCA) Nurse at Maximus, you will use your clinical expertise to assess how a person’s disability or health condition impacts their daily life. The role involves working on complex physical, mental health and chronic pain cases, providing compassionate support while helping the Department for Work and Pensions determine benefit eligibility.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video or face‑to‑face assessments to understand the impact of health conditions on daily activities.
• Produce detailed WCA reports for the Department for Work and Pensions.
• Develop clinical knowledge through regular feedback, supervision and ongoing training.
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to assessment guidelines.

Required profile

• Valid NMC registration number.
• At least 1 year of post‑registration adult or mental health nursing experience, in or out of the NHS.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship offered).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer software for typing and producing detailed reports.
