Wireless Software Engineer – WiFi

About the role

The Wireless Software Engineer will lead the Wi‑Fi subsystem for next‑generation automotive platforms, enabling wireless CarPlay and Android Auto projection. You will work across the Android Wi‑Fi stack, vendor HALs, and low‑level driver/firmware to deliver reliable connectivity in a regulated, RF‑constrained environment.

Key responsibilities

• Bring up and validate Wi‑Fi on the platform using the Android Wi‑Fi framework, including supplicant/hostapd configuration and vendor HAL integration.
• Own connection‑management logic for wireless projection, handling SoftAP hosting, session setup, retries, and timeout behavior per Apple and Google specifications.
• Design and maintain the network‑management layer: IPv6 configuration, routing, iptables/firewall rules, and country‑code transitions for global regulatory compliance.
• Isolate and resolve driver or firmware issues with silicon and module vendors, reproducing problems and validating fixes.
• Lead Wi‑Fi Alliance certification readiness, coordinate pre‑tests, and support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto certification efforts.

Required profile

• 6+ years of embedded software experience with deep Wi‑Fi expertise, from bring‑up to production.
• Strong experience with the Android Wi‑Fi stack (framework APIs, wpa_supplicant, hostapd, HAL) or comparable embedded Linux Wi‑Fi knowledge.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and comfort with Java/Kotlin at the Android framework layer.
• Solid understanding of Linux networking fundamentals (IPv6, routing, iptables, DHCP/DNS).
• Proven ability to debug wireless issues using OTA captures, driver logs, and systematic analysis.
