VP Senior Underwriting Manager – E&S Property

About the role

Zurich E&S is seeking a VP, Senior Underwriting Manager for its E&S Property team. This senior leader will develop, coach and manage a high‑performing regional underwriting team while staying closely connected to market dynamics.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, coach and manage a regional team of Property underwriters.
• Drive regional performance including new business production, policy count retention, rate/tiering execution and portfolio management.
• Manage wholesale broker relationships and underwriter referrals.
• Maintain a small production portfolio to stay attuned to market changes.
• Travel up to 25% to support the team and cultivate key broker relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years underwriting, market‑facing, broker, carrier or risk‑management experience in commercial insurance, OR 20+ years in claims or underwriting support.
• Experience in E&S Property.
• At least 2 years of people‑management experience.
