Vice President – Direct Originations

About the role

Altius Search Group is recruiting an experienced equipment finance originator for a well‑established, growing equipment finance company. The Vice President – Direct Originations will develop new financing relationships with middle‑market and larger commercial businesses, guiding them from prospecting through credit approval and funding.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new equipment finance business directly with middle‑market, large corporate, private‑equity‑sponsored, and other commercial clients.
• Build and manage an active pipeline through prospecting, referrals, existing relationships, and strategic initiatives.
• Establish relationships with CFOs, treasurers, controllers, procurement leaders, operating executives, private‑equity sponsors, and other senior decision‑makers.
• Identify capital expenditures, technology investments, facility expansions, automation projects, and equipment replacement needs.
• Structure equipment loans, leases, and customized financing solutions aligned with client objectives.
• Prepare and present financing proposals that clearly communicate structure, pricing, and value.
• Collaborate with credit, operations, documentation, asset management, and senior leadership to move transactions efficiently.
• Maintain ownership of client relationships throughout the transaction process and provide consistent communication.

Required profile

• Established experience originating equipment finance transactions directly with commercial end users.
• Proven ability to generate new business and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.
• Existing relationships with middle‑market companies, larger corporate borrowers, private‑equity sponsors, or senior financial decision‑makers.
• Strong understanding of equipment loans, finance leases, tax leases, and other commercial financing structures.
• Ability to evaluate financial statements, cash flow, leverage, liquidity, collateral, and business purpose.
• Experience presenting transactions to credit and senior management.
• Executive presence, strong communication skills, judgment, and follow‑through.
