VP, AI (Agentic Platforms & Transformation)
horizonmedia · New York
Job description
About the role
Horizon Media is building an applied AI function focused on transforming how work gets done across the enterprise through agentic systems, workflow redesign and intelligent data integration. It is seeking a VP, AI to lead this transformation end-to-end, owning how AI is identified, evaluated, built and scaled within workflows, moving from fragmented experimentation to a structured, repeatable system. This is a systems leadership role combining strategy, product thinking and execution, with a hybrid arrangement.
Key responsibilities
- Lead structured evaluation of AI platforms (e.g., Gemini, Claude, Perplexity) and turn their capabilities and constraints into prioritized adoption
- Design and scale multi-step, agent-driven workflows that automate and augment core business processes, embedding AI into operations rather than deploying isolated tools
- Define how third-party systems (SaaS, databases, APIs) integrate into AI workflows, with ingestion patterns using APIs, connectors, BigQuery and MCP
- Own adoption across the organization, driving initiatives from POC to production and tracking metrics such as workflow adoption, time saved, throughput and business impact
- Redesign business processes to embed AI, set intake and prioritization frameworks, and track engineering velocity and output
- Build and lead a team of AI engineers and integration specialists, set standards for agent design and orchestration, and partner with TPMs and engineering leadership
- Bridge business, engineering and platform teams, present recommendations to senior leadership, and engage with external partners such as Google
Required profile
- 12+ years of experience across AI, engineering, data or technical product leadership
- Proven track record of deploying AI-driven systems in enterprise environments
- Experience making architecture decisions across AI platforms, including tradeoffs between RAG, direct API access and hybrid approaches
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive large-scale initiatives
- Executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Required skills
- LLM/agent architectures and orchestration patterns (RAG, tool use, multi-agent systems)
- API-driven integrations
What we offer
- Salary range of $240,000 - $290,000, with actual base pay depending on skills, experience and qualifications
- Discretionary bonus
- Health, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, company-paid holidays and unlimited PTO
- Mental health and wellness resources, pet insurance, childcare resources, identity theft insurance, fertility assistance and fitness reimbursement
