Voting Systems Generalist – State of Georgia

About the role

The Voting Systems Generalist supports Georgia’s statewide election technology initiatives, providing operational, technical, and training assistance to county election offices. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Voting Systems, the role ensures secure, accurate, and efficient voting system operations across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate statewide election readiness activities and equipment testing.
• Provide technical assistance to county election offices during elections and post‑election audits.
• Deliver training programs and maintain documentation for voting system users.
• Manage inventory, deployment, and lifecycle of state‑owned voting equipment.
• Support voting system servers, workstations, and election management software, including upgrades and troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in election administration, IT support, or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Ability to travel statewide and lift equipment up to 75 lb.

Required skills

• Knowledge of voting systems, election management systems, and ballot‑building operations.
• Proficiency with desktop, server, and network technologies.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications.
• CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ certifications (or equivalent).
• Experience with inventory and asset management.
