Visiting Student – 12th Street Health & Wellness Clinic

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Visiting Student to support the 12th Street Health and Wellness Clinic, a free community clinic. This position fulfills a curricular requirement for students enrolled in an affiliated academic program and provides hands‑on experience in a collaborative health‑care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Volunteer at the 12th Street Health and Wellness Clinic, assisting health‑care professionals with patient intake and basic clinical tasks.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the delivery of compassionate, patient‑centered care.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to clinic policies and safety protocols, including COVID‑19 vaccination requirements.
• Document activities as required by the academic program and the clinic.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an active academic program that partners with the UAMS 12th Street Health and Wellness Center.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States on the first day of the assignment.
• Full COVID‑19 vaccination or an approved medical/religious exemption on file with Student & Employee Health Services.
