About the role

The Vice President of Student Affairs leads a comprehensive system of student services for a technical college, ensuring students receive the support they need from admission through graduation. This senior position shapes policy, oversees operations, and collaborates with state and local agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain student services including counseling, admission, orientation, testing, financial aid, job placement, and special‑population assistance.
• Plan and supervise quarterly registration and orientation activities.
• Coordinate departmental activities with federal, state, and local agencies.
• Serve on boards and committees, compile enrollment reports, and manage student services publications.
• Act as Registrar for the technical college and plan graduation ceremonies.
• Participate in strategic and college planning initiatives.
• Oversee the department’s budget and financial operations.
• Monitor personnel compliance with policy manuals and develop or revise policies as needed.
• Evaluate services regularly and adjust programs to meet evolving needs.

Required profile

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Deep knowledge of post‑secondary vocational/technical education missions.
• Experience with program assessment, strategic planning, and budget management.
• Familiarity with best practices and trends in student services.
• Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, decision‑making, and problem‑solving abilities.
