Engineering Lab Assistant

About the role

The Engineering Lab Assistant supports daily operations of the engineering laboratory at Augusta Technical College. You will work closely with instructors to ensure a safe, organized, and technology‑enabled learning environment for students.

Key responsibilities

• Assist instructors with lab setup, scheduling, and student training on equipment and tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab space, promoting best safety practices.
• Manage lab inventory, conduct periodic counts, and requisition supplies.
• Proctor examinations and provide instructional or remediation support as directed.
• Update and install lab software for engineering technology applications.
• Maintain accurate course documentation and records in accordance with college policies.

Required profile

• Three years of hands‑on technical experience in electronics, electrical design, prototyping, testing, or electromechanical maintenance.
• Successful completion of a relevant technical or engineering program.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
