About the role

The Vice President of Human Resources is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for shaping HR strategy and culture across a large state‑government education agency. This senior position drives talent acquisition, employee development, compliance and diversity initiatives to support the organization’s mission and the well‑being of Georgia’s citizens.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team on all human capital matters, providing insights to enhance organizational effectiveness.
• Lead organizational change initiatives to support growth, innovation, and scalability.
• Oversee talent acquisition strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent at all levels.
• Implement leadership development and career progression programs to build a pipeline of future leaders.
• Foster an inclusive workplace culture that reflects the organization’s values and DEI commitments.
• Manage employee relations, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, Title IX requirements, and workplace safety standards.
• Oversee HR analytics, reporting, and continuous improvement of HR systems and processes.
• Manage the HR budget and allocate resources efficiently.

Required profile

• Extensive senior HR leadership experience, preferably in a public‑sector or large‑scale organization.
• Proven ability to advise executive teams and drive strategic HR initiatives.
• Demonstrated success in leading change management, talent acquisition, and employee development programs.
• Strong knowledge of labor laws, compliance, and Title IX coordination.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on inclusive culture.
