Vaccination Services & Equipment Specialist

About the role

Ceva is hiring a Vaccination Services & Equipment (VSE) Technician in Fort Smith, AR. This is a direct customer-facing field service role supporting poultry hatcheries: monitoring, support, guidance and training of hatchery personnel, on-site vaccinations with Ceva vaccines and equipment, and upkeep of Ceva facilities. The role involves about 80% travel.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Equipment Manager, Territory Manager and/or VSE Manager for installation and support of vaccination and automation equipment (e.g. Desvac Duo, IM vaccinators, Ecat-iD Egginject and candling), ensuring customer safety and compliance specifications are met
• Manage inventory of parts and supplies, and carry out on-site equipment inspections, installations and operator training
• Perform Desvac In Line Duo evaluations and validation, routine maintenance and troubleshooting, and complete equipment reporting and documentation
• Carry out C.H.I.C.K Program evaluations, reporting and training, and provide feedback to Key Account and Strategic Account Managers; take part in customer meetings and perform certifications such as Bureau Veritas where required
• As a secondary duty, deliver vaccines when the Customer Supply Specialist is unavailable, following DOT and OSHA requirements and managing the marking, movement and tracking of vaccines and dewars, including safe handling of liquid nitrogen

Required profile

• 4-year degree and/or 2-year technical degree with 2 years of related technical experience
• 2+ years of related poultry work experience preferred
• Liquid nitrogen training, safety training, C.H.I.C.K Program training, Bureau Veritas training, hot works training and others as required
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds (more with assistance) and drive up to 10 hours per day; overnight and weekend work may be required

Required skills

• Understanding of hatchery activities, processes and automation equipment functionality
• Basic understanding of Ceva hatchery products and vaccination vocabulary
• Ability to prepare and deliver a marketing speech
