Union Porter

About the role

The Union Porter works the night shift (3 PM – Midnight) to keep the community’s grounds, amenities and overall curb appeal in excellent condition. This position supports the service team and ensures a clean, safe environment for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect the community throughout the day, removing litter, debris and pet droppings from common areas and amenities.
• Remove trash from vacant apartments, transport it to dumpsters or storage areas, and maintain those storage spaces.
• Complete minor service requests assigned by the Service Supervisor or Community Manager and assist the make‑ready specialist.
• Change locks according to policy and verify that pool‑area gates meet safety codes.
• Distribute resident notices and communications as needed.
• Report hazards or dangerous situations to supervisors promptly.
• Provide courteous customer service, answer resident questions and address maintenance complaints.
• Participate in safety meetings, complete OSHA training and report accidents accurately.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently during night hours and follow established safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and curb appeal.
• Good communication skills for interacting with residents and team members.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, and operating equipment.
