Underwriting Specialist / Executive Underwriter – Contract Surety

About the role

Zurich Insurance is seeking an Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter for its Contract Surety Division in Atlanta. This market‑facing position involves underwriting, analyzing existing accounts, and generating new surety business while traveling up to 25%.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite and produce new surety accounts as well as manage existing business.
• Support internal marketing and cross‑sell initiatives across Zurich North America.
• Execute external marketing strategies and develop broker and agency relationships.
• Adhere to underwriting rules, insurance regulations, and Zurich’s underwriting framework.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant underwriting, market‑facing, or claims support experience (3‑10+ years depending on level).
• Knowledge of surety lines of business, legal and regulatory guidelines, and time constraints for quoting.
• Experience working in a team environment and handling time‑sensitive quotes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• Base salary ranging from $75,000 to $165,000 depending on level.
