Underwriting Internship – Summer 2027 (Houston)

About the role

Join Zurich’s Underwriting organization as an intern for the Summer 2027 term in Houston. You will work alongside experienced underwriters, gaining hands‑on experience while contributing to real projects that support business growth and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Learn underwriting fundamentals through mentorship and hands‑on training.
• Support business unit financial reporting and analysis.
• Assist with preparing financial and operational reports using underwriting and business intelligence tools.
• Support pipeline management and underwriting operations activities.
• Participate in client, broker, and stakeholder meetings.
• Review loss summaries and assist with account analysis.
• Gain exposure to customer, broker, and partner relationships within the insurance industry.

Required profile

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Business or a related field.
• Enrolled and will be enrolled in the Fall of 2027, with at least two years of college coursework (rising Junior or Senior).
• Microsoft Office experience.
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. indefinitely.
• Preferred: GPA ≥ 3.0, strong problem‑solving, verbal and written communication, analytical thinking, and leadership experience.
