Underwriting Associate – E&S Excess Casualty

About the role

Zurich North America is hiring a UA Associate to support the E&S Excess Casualty team. You will work closely with experienced underwriters, reviewing and analysing risk exposures while developing your research and analytical skills.

Key responsibilities

• Review, evaluate, and summarize risk exposures, controls, loss history, and financial condition to aid underwriting decisions.
• Follow underwriter instructions on policy rating, pricing, construction, coverages, exclusions, and mandatory forms to quote and issue policies accurately.
• Provide end‑to‑end account servicing for new business, renewals, and endorsements for basic to moderately complex policies.
• Respond to written, verbal, and telephone inquiries promptly under supervision.
• Support underwriters in broker, agent, distributor, and customer interactions with basic customer‑service skills.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with no prior experience, or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, or High School Diploma with 2+ years experience in administrative, customer service, financial services, risk management, or insurance.
• Knowledge of data collection and analysis.
• Microsoft Office experience.
