Ultrasound Technologist – Obstetrics & Gynecology

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is seeking a full‑time Ultrasound Technologist 1 to perform complex sonographic procedures and ensure high‑quality diagnostic imaging.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialty sonographic examinations across all difficulty levels, including portable bedside studies.
• Operate ultrasound scanners and related equipment following radiation safety protocols and age‑appropriate standards.
• Assist physicians with invasive and special procedures, and provide preliminary interpretations to highlight suspected pathology.
• Maintain equipment, conduct quality‑assurance tests, and report any malfunctions.
• Train co‑workers, students, residents, and fellows; participate in quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of relevant ultrasound experience.
• Strong learning agility, teamwork orientation, and clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow safety and infection‑control standards and complete required documentation.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and radiographic devices.
• Knowledge of ultrasound techniques, disease processes, and technical pitfalls.
