Ultrasound Technologist 3

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of OBGYN is seeking a full‑time Ultrasound Technologist 3 to perform diagnostic sonographic examinations and support the Ultrasound Services team. This position involves operating advanced ultrasound equipment, coordinating patient tests, and ensuring high‑quality imaging results.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialty sonographic procedures using 2‑D, 3‑D, color, power and spectral Doppler modalities.
• Evaluate preliminary interpretations and alert physicians to suspected pathology.
• Schedule and coordinate tests, record results, and maintain operational logs.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment; order supplies as needed.
• Assist physicians with invasive and special procedures and provide patient education.
• Train co‑workers, students, residents, fellows and visiting personnel.
• Lead quality improvement activities and ensure compliance with safety and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant ultrasound experience.
• Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as required.
• Commitment to University core values and ability to handle confidential information.

Required skills

• Operation of complex ultrasound equipment (2‑D, 3‑D, color, power and spectral Doppler).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
