Transmission Line Engineer 3 – Grid

About the role

The Transmission Line Engineer 3 will apply expertise in high‑voltage transmission line design, covering conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations and electrical principles. You will work on projects ranging from 69 kV to 765 kV, delivering detailed designs, cost estimates and specifications while collaborating with vendors and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design transmission lines (69 kV‑765 kV) and perform structural analysis of pole, lattice, framed and guyed structures.
• Develop foundation designs, conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding and induction analyses.
• Generate cost estimates, schedules and procurement specifications for line materials and construction.
• Model transmission lines in PLS‑CADD, determine right‑of‑way requirements, calculate conductor sags and produce plan/profile drawings.
• Review vendor submittals and specify transmission line components.

Required profile

• Degree from an ABET‑accredited engineering program.
• 3+ years of experience in transmission line engineering.
• Proficiency with PLS‑CADD and PLS‑POLE.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (spoken, read, written).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
