Transitional Housing Resident Manager / Crisis Intervention Counselor

About the role

The Resident Manager will live on‑site at Kosumosu Transitional Housing, a program supporting domestic‑violence survivors and their children. In addition to standard property‑management duties, the role requires daily interaction with residents, crisis intervention, and coordination with social‑services and property‑management teams.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve emergency situations, including after‑hours incidents.
• Provide crisis intervention and emergency counseling for residents.
• Address resident complaints (resident‑vs‑management and resident‑vs‑resident) and strive for resolution.
• Monitor resident safety and well‑being on a daily basis.
• Keep Social Services staff informed of significant resident developments.
• Update property‑management staff on building‑related issues.
• Maintain building security and enforce security policies.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, paperwork processing, and basic accounting.
• Collect rent, oversee routine maintenance, and assist with repairs as assigned.
• Conduct regular property inspections, including twice‑daily walks and evening curfew checks.

Required profile

• General knowledge of domestic‑violence issues.
• 65‑hour Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Bilingual/bicultural background preferred.
• Strong office and communication abilities.
• Experience in residential property management or transitional‑housing settings strongly preferred.
• Ability to travel locally using approved transportation.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
