Transit Communication Systems Internship

About the role
Support daily operations and overall engineering for communications systems projects while working directly with Communication System Engineers. The internship focuses on systems and network design, fiber backbone design, and designing systems such as CCTV, emergency and VOIP telephones, access control, and SCADA.
Key responsibilities
- Engineering of communication system designs
- Development of Bill of Materials
- RFI creation and product selection
- Creation of O&M manuals and training documentation
- Customer and internal meetings
- Other design‑related tasks as assigned
Required profile
- Pursuing a BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong interest in transit and/or rail construction projects
- Analytical, problem‑solving, organization and communication skills
- Time‑management ability and experience working with diverse public and private stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint
