About the role
The Cancer Prevention and Control Program at Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Tobacco Treatment Specialist to lead a telephone‑based smoking cessation intervention. The role supports high‑risk individuals undergoing lung cancer screening or treatment and contributes to the STAR and TEAL research programs.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver telephone‑based smoking cessation counseling to participants in the STAR and TEAL trials.
- Conduct participant assessments and manage related data.
- Provide logistical support for the clinical trial, including scheduling, tracking, and documentation.
- Assist with data entry, quality control, and reporting using REDCap and Excel.
- Collaborate with the Lung Screening, Tobacco, and Health (LSTH) team and report to Dr. Kathryn Taylor and Dr. Randi Williams.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in pre‑med, public health, psychology, or a related social science.
- Prior experience in behavioral or clinical research, preferably with tobacco‑related projects.
- Commitment to a two‑year term.
- Experience working in clinical settings and with electronic health records (EHR) is preferred.
Required skills
- Proficiency with REDCap for data management.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
