About the role

The Bar Harbor Inn and Spa is looking for a friendly, organized Terrace Grille Host to be the first point of contact for guests enjoying waterfront dining. This seasonal, full‑time role runs from spring through fall and involves managing reservations, waitlists, and seating flow in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming first impression.
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments efficiently.
• Coordinate seating to ensure smooth service between front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house.
• Communicate wait times clearly and accurately to guests.
• Assist servers and management with guest needs and special requests.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area.
• Monitor dining‑room activity and adjust seating plans as needed.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and provide exceptional customer service.
