Terminal Operator – Rotating 12‑Hour Shifts

About the role

The Terminal Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of petroleum products through a midstream terminal. Working rotating 12‑hour shifts, the role supports pipeline, rail, truck, and marine operations while maintaining strict safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Gauge petroleum products transferred to and from tanks, trucks, rail cars, pipelines, barges, and vessels.
• Perform valve line‑ups, switch and tank changes to move products in and out of storage.
• Enter product data into terminal automation systems such as ATLAS and TopTech.
• Conduct tank inspections, analyze contents, and maintain daily inspection records.
• Assist drivers and customers with vessel, truck, and rail rack operations.
• Maintain equipment, perform routine maintenance, and ensure facility compliance.
• Support DOT‑covered functions, including emergency response and hazardous condition monitoring.

Required profile

• High school diploma (required).
• 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Capability to work under time pressure, stressful conditions, and tight deadlines.
• Willingness to follow standard procedures and safety protocols.

Required skills

• Experience with ATLAS terminal automation software.
• Experience with TopTech terminal automation software.
• Proficiency using a personal computer with Windows operating system.
• Operation of a multi‑line phone system.
