Temporary Senior Engineer – Virtualization (12‑month assignment)

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Temporary Senior Engineer for a twelve‑month assignment within its Digital Nexus technology organization. The role focuses on administering and supporting server infrastructure that hosts enterprise applications.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, configure, and support server infrastructure for enterprise applications, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with peer teams and vendors to coordinate solutions, fine‑tune systems, and plan capacity.
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures, and implement solutions that meet business needs.
• Prioritize user requests, communicate progress, and act as escalation point for Level 2 support and major incidents.
• Drive innovation in technical processes and maintain project documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of recent technical experience resolving complex infrastructure integration issues.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in high‑pressure environments.
• Experience operating in large‑enterprise environments and managing systems at scale.

Required skills

• VMware ESX/VSphere (various editions)
• Aria Operations (custom reports, rightsizing, monitoring, ServiceNow integration)
• Aria Automation (disk expansion, server builds, automated rightsizing)
• PowerShell and other scripting languages
• Windows Server, Linux‑based systems
• SAN knowledge
• Cisco UCS compute platforms
