Teacher NT-6 at Augusta YDC (Georgia)

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a Teacher NT-6 to join the Augusta Youth Development Center (YDC). Under supervision, you will develop and deliver lesson plans to a diverse student population, creating a supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, organize, and implement lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with state standards.
• Deliver instruction across subject areas, using relevant technology to differentiate learning.
• Manage classroom behavior, enforce rules, and maintain discipline in accordance with school policies.
• Assess student progress, provide feedback, and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and prepare required reports.
• Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings.
• Communicate regularly with students, colleagues, and parents regarding progress and needs.

Required profile

• Completion of an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution.
• Eligibility to obtain a Georgia Clear and Renewable Teacher Certificate (or hold a Provisional Georgia Educator’s Certificate).
• Ability to work with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds.
