Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Independent Contractor)

About the role

AIM is seeking a certified Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) teacher to provide direct and consultative services to DHH students across multiple Texas campuses on a flexible, itinerant contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver instructional plans aligned with curriculum goals, IEPs, and each learner's communication needs.
• Provide expertise in hearing aids, cochlear implants, FM/DM systems, and interpret audiograms.
• Communicate audiological information clearly to parents, teachers, and campus staff.
• Offer in‑service training for mainstream teachers and support personnel.
• Collaborate with general and special education teachers, related service providers, and school nurses.
• Manage scheduling and documentation of services across a multi‑campus caseload.

Required profile

• Valid Texas educator certification with Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong family engagement and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hearing aid technology.
• Experience with cochlear implant systems.
• Knowledge of FM/DM assistive listening systems.
• Ability to interpret audiograms.
