Teacher Education Center Coordinator

About the role

The Teacher Education Center (TEC) Coordinator provides leadership and administrative oversight for the School of Education’s Teacher Education Center at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. This 12‑month faculty appointment includes a limited teaching load while driving recruitment, retention, licensure attainment, and clinical experiences for future teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead programmatic coordination and daily operations of the Teacher Education Center, supporting the Title III Advancing Teacher Preparation Pathways initiative.
• Provide candidate support services, residency programming, certification preparation, and develop strategic partnerships with school districts and community stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Arkansas Department of Education requirements, accreditation standards (CAEP), and university mission.
• Collaborate with faculty, district personnel, and external partners to expand educator workforce development initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, or related field.
• Minimum three years experience in P‑12 education, teacher preparation, academic advising, student support services, or program coordination.
• Knowledge of Arkansas educator licensure requirements and ability to work collaboratively with university and district partners.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred: Doctoral degree, experience with educator preparation programs, accreditation processes, grant‑funded initiatives, and familiarity with Science of Reading and teacher residency models.
