Tax Filing & Payments Associate

About the role

As a Tax Filing & Payments Associate you will own filing and payments for a defined set of agencies and employers, working closely with senior teammates while building toward independent scope. You will prepare accounts, execute original filings, monitor failed or late payments, and turn friction points into actionable documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of a defined set of jurisdictions, handling account preparation, original filings and monitoring failed or late payments.
• File and pay under established workflows, adapting to regulatory changes and reconciling discrepancies with senior teammates.
• Log friction points, write clear documentation, and leverage AI tools to improve accuracy and speed.
• Communicate proactively about deadlines and blockers, and progressively meet SLAs with reduced oversight.

Required profile

• 1–2+ years of experience in operations, compliance, payroll, or a related regulated/customer‑facing function.
• Proven ability to learn new systems and subject matter quickly.
• Comfort taking ownership of work and asking for help when needed.
• Strong curiosity about AI and experience experimenting with AI to boost productivity.
• Excellent written communication for logging friction and building documentation.
