Surgical Technology Program Director

About the role

The Surgical Technology Program Director is responsible for executing and maintaining the standards of an accredited Surgical Technology program, providing leadership, quality oversight, and curriculum management.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, organize and supervise the accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Conduct continuous quality review, long‑range planning and program development.
• Oversee orientation, training and supervision of clinical and field internship preceptors.
• Implement directives from Deans/Assistant Deans, manage the program budget and maintain curriculum materials.
• Collaborate with the Dean on projects, handle academic appeals and ensure compliance with national certification deadlines.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree (any field) and at least five years of current operating‑room scrub experience or surgical‑technology instruction (or a combination).
• Proficiency in instructional methodology, curriculum design and program planning.
• Current national certification in Surgical Technology accredited by the NCCA.
• Ability to meet drug‑screen and physical‑examination requirements as required.

Preferred qualifications

• Previous experience in post‑secondary education.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
