Surgical Technology Internship – 17‑Week Paid Program

About the role

The Surgical Technology Internship is a 17‑week paid program for students in their final semester of an accredited Surgical Technology program. Interns will work alongside experienced surgical technologists across multiple Cleveland Clinic locations, gaining hands‑on experience and classroom instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with basic surgical patient care activities such as prepping, draping, and setting up a sterile field under supervision.
• Maintain aseptic technique, manage specimens, and pull cases as needed.
• Handle room turnover, set up operating rooms for the next day, and stock supplies.
• Participate in scheduled orientation, workshop days, and complete 150 internship hours.
• Engage with nurse managers and surgical technology educators throughout the program.

Required profile

• Current enrollment in an accredited Surgical Technology program, entering the last semester (expected graduation May 2027).
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Willingness to obtain a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification before the start date.
• Ability to work flexible hours, stand for long periods, and lift up to 25 lb regularly.
